WASH Officer (Emergency) – Fixed Term

About the role

The Emergency WASH Officer will support UNICEF Niger’s country programme by providing technical, operational and administrative assistance across the full WASH cycle. Reporting to the Chief of WASH, the officer will help ensure that water, sanitation and hygiene interventions are designed, delivered and monitored effectively in emergency and development contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and plan WASH programmes in line with national and UNICEF strategies.
• Manage programme implementation, monitor progress and ensure delivery of results.
• Provide technical and operational support for WASH activities, including emergency preparedness and response.
• Support networking, partnership building and coordination with government and humanitarian actors.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives within the WASH sector.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or a related technical field.
