Field Agents (Community Facilitators/Extension Agents)

About the role

The International Development Company is seeking experienced Field Agents to support a large‑scale agricultural and nutrition programme in Niger. The role involves installing solar‑powered agro‑processing units, developing value‑added products, and delivering extensive training to women, youth, and community health workers.

Key responsibilities

• Install and operationalise 25 solar‑powered agro‑processing units across target districts.
• Develop at least five value‑added products from cowpea and peanuts.
• Train 600 women and youth on processing, quality, hygiene, packaging, storage, business management and market linkages.
• Train and support 40 community relays and six municipal health workers.
• Establish 15 Community Nutrition Monitoring and Vigilance Groups.
• Strengthen local institutions, producer organisations and entrepreneurs through assessments, training and public‑private dialogue.
• Diagnose financial barriers and design financial inclusion mechanisms.
• Produce high‑quality reports, evidence and hand‑over documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in community‑based agricultural or nutrition projects.
• Demonstrated ability to work with women, youth and health workers in rural settings.
• Knowledge of climate‑smart agriculture, agro‑processing and nutrition monitoring.
• Familiarity with public‑private partnership facilitation.
• Willingness to travel within rural Niger.
• Fluency in French and local languages.
