Project Coordinator / Team Leader (Agronomist & Socio‑economist)

About the role

The Project Coordinator / Team Leader will oversee the implementation of a multi‑component agricultural development programme in Niger. The role combines agronomic expertise, socio‑economic analysis and advocacy to improve food security, nutrition and economic inclusion for women and youth.

Key responsibilities

• Install and operationalise 25 solar‑powered agro‑processing units and develop at least five value‑added cowpea and peanut products.
• Design and deliver training for 600 women and youth on processing, quality, hygiene, packaging, storage, business management and market linkages.
• Support 40 community relays and six municipal health workers, and establish 15 Community Nutrition Monitoring and Vigilance Groups.
• Strengthen producer organisations and local institutions through assessments, training, public‑private dialogue and financial‑inclusion diagnostics.
• Lead monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) activities, ensure quality of reports, videos and technical notes, and manage budgets and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+4 or 5) with a minimum of three years’ relevant experience.
• Proven ability to approve workplans, training schedules and knowledge products.
• Experience in supervising technical staff, field teams and coordinating with government, municipalities, financial institutions and private‑sector partners.
• Demonstrated competence in overseeing implementation plans, budgets and ensuring gender, youth, nutrition and climate‑sensitive approaches.
• Strong leadership, planning and coordination skills to manage all programme activities.
