Project Coordinator / Team Leader (Agronomist – Socio‑economist / Advocacy specialist)

About the role

The International Development Company is looking for experienced professionals to lead a multi‑disciplinary team in Niger. The Project Coordinator/Team Leader will oversee the installation of solar‑powered agro‑processing units, develop value‑added products, and drive capacity‑building activities for women, youth, and local institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Install and operationalize 25 solar‑powered agro‑processing units across Dakoro and Gazaoua.
• Develop at least five value‑added products from cowpea and peanuts.
• Train 600 women and youth on processing, quality, hygiene, packaging, storage, business management, and market linkages.
• Support 40 community relays and six municipal health workers and establish 15 Community Nutrition Monitoring and Vigilance Groups.
• Strengthen producer organisations and local entrepreneurs through assessments, training, and public‑private dialogue.
• Diagnose financial barriers and design financial‑inclusion mechanisms.
• Produce high‑quality reports, evidence, and handover documentation for the programme.

Required profile

• Degree in Agronomy, Socio‑economics, Rural Development, or a related field.
• Proven experience managing agricultural or agro‑processing projects in low‑resource settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work with women‑ and youth‑led groups and community health actors.
• Strong understanding of climate‑smart agriculture and nutrition security.
• Excellent communication skills in English (French is a plus).
