Remote Rust Software Engineer (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Rust software engineer to help build and evaluate large‑language‑model (LLM) datasets that simulate real software engineering problems. This fully remote contract role blends hands‑on development with AI research, allowing you to influence how LLMs interact with production code.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and triage GitHub issues from trending open‑source libraries.
• Set up and automate code repositories, including Dockerization and environment configuration.
• Evaluate unit‑test coverage and overall code quality.
• Run, modify, and test codebases locally to assess LLM performance on bug‑fixing tasks.
• Collaborate with researchers to select challenging repositories and design evaluation scenarios.
• Optionally lead a small team of junior engineers on project deliverables.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of professional software engineering experience.
• Tech‑lead level competence with public GitHub repositories.
• Comfortable navigating and modifying complex codebases.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
