Child Protection Officer – Child Marriage & Violence Prevention

About the role

The Child Protection Officer will work under the supervision of the Child Protection Specialist to support UNICEF’s efforts to prevent child marriage and violence against children in Niger. The role focuses on scaling up interventions, empowering adolescent girls, and increasing the visibility of programmes through strategic partnerships in Niamey, Tillabéri, and Dosso.

Key responsibilities

• Support activity planning and provide technical and operational assistance for programme implementation.
• Develop and nurture partnerships with local and regional stakeholders to enhance programme reach.
• Drive innovation, knowledge management, and capacity‑building initiatives.
• Monitor progress and contribute to reporting on results and impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in social/economic sciences, international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law or a related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in planning and managing social development projects.
• Proficiency in French and good knowledge of English; additional UN language or local language is an asset.
• Demonstrated commitment to UNICEF’s core values and child‑rights principles.
