Social Policy Officer (Fixed‑Term) – Tahoua, Niger

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Social Policy Officer to join its Tahoua Zone Office in Niger. The role provides technical support across the full cycle of social‑policy programming, from strategic planning to the delivery of measurable results that improve child‑focused public policies and services.

Key responsibilities

• Improve data collection and analysis on child poverty and vulnerability to inform policy and programme decisions.
• Strengthen social‑protection coverage and its impact on children.
• Enhance the transparency, adequacy, equity and efficiency of child‑focused public financial resources.
• Build capacity of local governments to plan, budget, consult on and monitor child‑centred social services.
• Lead advocacy and partnership initiatives to promote child‑sensitive social policies.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science or a related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience, preferably in challenging or emergency settings.
• Fluency in French is mandatory; knowledge of an additional official language is desirable.
