IT Technician

About the role

Wave is building the first cashless continent in Africa and needs a skilled IT Technician to keep its office technology running smoothly across multiple countries. You will be the go‑to person for on‑site support, handling complex requests and ensuring a reliable IT environment for all employees.

Key responsibilities

• Provide face‑to‑face and ticket‑based end‑user support, acting as the senior point of contact in the office.
• Independently resolve hardware, software, workplace technology and operational issues.
• Manage ticket queues, maintain SLA compliance and serve as an escalation point for Level‑1 technicians.
• Identify recurring problems, propose service improvements and document clear escalation cases.
• Deploy, configure, recover and troubleshoot employee and office hardware while keeping the asset register accurate.
• Follow and improve hardware deployment, inventory and asset‑management processes.
• Prepare devices to meet Wave’s security standards and coordinate vendors for repairs and procurement.
• Support and troubleshoot local network connectivity and infrastructure.

Required profile

• Experienced technician capable of working independently and handling complex day‑to‑day requests.
• Strong customer‑service orientation, operational discipline and sound judgment.
• Ability to coordinate vendors, contribute to small projects and act as a reliable escalation point for L1 support.
