Health Officer (NO-2) – Temporary Position

About the role

The Health Officer will support the Chief Field Office in delivering UNICEF's Health Programme in Niger. This temporary 364‑day appointment involves technical, operational and administrative assistance across the programme lifecycle, from planning to results reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development and planning, including health, nutrition and maternal‑neonatal initiatives.
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring progress and ensuring delivery of results.
• Provide technical and operational support to field activities and emergency preparedness.
• Build partnerships and networks with government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, pediatric health, epidemiology or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in public health planning, nutrition, maternal‑neonatal health or health emergency preparedness.
• Fluency in French; English knowledge is desirable.
• Experience in capacity building, partnership development and programme management.
