WASH Officer (Emergency) – Full Time – Niamey, Niger

About the role

The WASH Officer (Emergency) will support UNICEF Niger’s country programme by providing technical, operational and administrative assistance across the full WASH cycle. Reporting to the Chief of WASH, the officer will help design, implement, monitor and evaluate emergency and development WASH interventions that protect children’s health and dignity.

Key responsibilities

• Programme development and planning for WASH interventions.
• Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results.
• Technical and operational support for programme implementation.
• Humanitarian WASH preparedness and response.
• Networking and partnership building with government, NGOs and donors.
• Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building within the WASH team.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in WASH or a related humanitarian sector.
