Space Applications Expert – Earth Observation & Copernicus

About the role

NTU International is seeking a highly qualified Space Applications Expert to support the Africa‑EU Space Partnership Programme (AESPP Boost). The expert will lead the development, deployment and uptake of Earth Observation services and applications that leverage Copernicus data to address climate, environmental and development challenges across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Earth Observation services and applications, focusing on early warning, climate monitoring, agriculture, water management, biodiversity and other priority sectors.
• Coordinate with African institutions and stakeholders to ensure effective uptake of Copernicus‑based solutions.
• Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, technical reports and policy briefs.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to local partners on geospatial data handling and analysis.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in geomatics, remote sensing, environmental science, meteorology, engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Earth Observation, geospatial services or climate/environmental applications.
• At least 4 years of experience designing or delivering EO services using Copernicus data and products.
• Experience working with African institutions or on African projects is an asset.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus.
