Social Policy Officer (Fixed-Term) – Tahoua, Niger

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Social Policy Officer to provide technical support for social policy programming in the Tahoua zone of Niger. The role focuses on improving child‑focused public policies, social protection, and public financial management to reduce child poverty and enhance service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Improve data on child poverty and vulnerability for policy and programme action.
• Strengthen social protection coverage and impact for children.
• Enhance the use of public financial resources for child‑focused investments.
• Build capacity of local governments to plan, budget, consult on, and monitor child‑focused social services.
• Promote advocacy and partnerships for child‑sensitive social policy.

Required profile

• University degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Science or a related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience.
• Fluency in French.
• Experience working in emergency or challenging settings is desirable.
