Risk & Compliance Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Risk & Compliance Lead to safeguard our operations in Niger. You will own the country’s compliance framework, lead field audits and support fraud investigations while ensuring alignment with global standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enforce compliance policies, procedures and controls across the country.
• Serve as the primary risk and compliance point of contact for leadership and report to the board’s specialised committee.
• Identify, assess and monitor operational risks in collaboration with functional teams.
• Oversee KYC, agent and merchant onboarding controls and ensure AML/CFT investigations, including STR filing.
• Supervise field audit activities, conduct spot checks, reconcile findings and drive remediation.
• Coordinate with partner banks, the Central Bank (BCEAO) and other regulators, preparing periodic compliance reports.
• Assist fraud teams by escalating signals, supporting investigations and raising awareness.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance or audit, preferably in mobile money or financial services.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business & Economics or related field.
• Fluency in French and working knowledge of English.
• Proven team‑management experience.
• Strong analytical mindset, ability to propose practical risk mitigation solutions and collaborate across functions.
