Remote Fulani to English Medical Interpreter

About the role

INTELEX is looking for a fluent Fulani‑English interpreter to join its remote team. The position supports medical and legal interactions, ensuring patients and providers communicate accurately and culturally‑appropriately.

Key responsibilities

• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation between Fulani and English in medical settings.
• Maintain precise use of medical terminology and ensure HIPAA‑compliant communication.
• Support on‑demand OPI/VRI sessions as well as scheduled appointments.
• Facilitate clear, culturally sensitive dialogue between patients and healthcare professionals.

Required profile

• 6 months to 3 years of professional interpretation experience.
• Proven expertise in medical or legal interpretation.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including 24/7 coverage.
• Strong listening, note‑taking, and memory retention abilities.

Required skills

• Fluency in Fulani and English.
• HIPAA‑compliant remote setup.
• Wired USB headset with noise cancellation.
• Internet connection of at least 10 Mbps upload and 20 Mbps download.
