Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, deployment and management of integrated road crash data systems for the EU‑funded “Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance” project. The role will support ECOWAS institutions and regional partners in building harmonised, interoperable road safety information platforms across West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection methodologies, database management and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road infrastructure databases into unified crash data systems.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, data standards and road safety analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting systems and road safety monitoring tools.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation mechanisms and evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport institutions, police authorities, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, technical training and capacity‑building activities on crash data systems and analytics.
• Support monitoring, reporting and analytical outputs related to road crash data management and road safety performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road safety data systems, information systems or transport analytics.
• At least 7 years of experience specifically with crash data systems, data interoperability or road safety observatories.
• Proven experience on transport or road safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
