Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

The Information Extraction Specialist will design and operate pipelines that turn unstructured and semi‑structured content into clean, structured datasets. Working remotely, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality extraction solutions for a variety of domains.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement extraction pipelines for documents such as legal contracts, medical records, financial reports, news articles, and technical manuals.
• Create and manage high‑quality training datasets, define sampling strategies, lead annotation teams, and ensure rigorous quality assurance.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall, and F1 metrics, analyse errors, and iterate on guidelines, data, or model architecture.
• Assess, integrate, and customize open‑source and commercial extraction tools and platforms.
• Develop scripts and automated workflows to streamline the extraction process.
• Adapt extraction systems quickly to new domains, building accurate guidelines and domain knowledge.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP, computational linguistics, or related fields.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities with a track record of analysing model errors and delivering data‑driven improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English, capable of documenting complex guidelines clearly.
• Proven experience designing annotation schemas and handling ambiguous extraction cases.

Required skills

• Python programming for data analysis and NLP tasks.
• Familiarity with NLP libraries such as spaCy, NLTK, Hugging Face Transformers, and Stanford CoreNLP.
