HR Lead

About the role

Wave is building a cashless Africa and needs a senior HR professional to lead its people strategy in Niger. As the HR Lead you will shape policies, ensure compliance with local labour law and drive a high‑performance culture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement HR strategies that align with Wave’s growth objectives.
• Provide expert advice to senior management on payroll, learning & development, employment law and workforce planning.
• Develop and continuously improve employment policies in consultation with executives, trade unions and staff.
• Lead, coach and develop the local HR team, promoting best practices and professional standards.
• Oversee employee programmes, benefits, succession planning and performance‑review processes.
• Ensure full compliance with Niger labour regulations, company policies and professional standards.
• Drive engagement, welfare initiatives and a strong organisational culture that reflects Wave’s values.
• Create and manage diversity, equality and inclusion plans aligned with business strategy.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in Niger labour law and HR policy definition.
• Demonstrated experience leading an HR function or team.
• Strong ability to advise senior leadership and influence organisational change.
• Excellent communication skills and a track record of fostering inclusive cultures.
