Head of Support – Niger, Central Sahel

About the role

The Head of Support for Niger, Central Sahel will lead the country‑level support platform for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). Reporting to the Multi‑Country Director, the role ensures high‑quality, compliant, and efficient administrative, financial, logistics and ICT services that enable NRC’s humanitarian programmes in Niger.

Key responsibilities

• Provide line management for Niger support managers and coordinators covering Finance, HR/Admin, Logistics and ICT.
• Represent Niger support priorities, risks and operational constraints in the Country Management Group and Multi‑Country Management Group.
• Ensure compliance with NRC policies, donor requirements, and auditor standards across all support functions.
• Contribute strategic input to the Central Sahel strategy, Niger operating plans and MCO priorities.
• Support proposal development with operational and financial inputs and coordinate with the Burkina Faso Country Representative on cross‑border issues.

Required profile

• Committed and experienced humanitarian support leader with deep knowledge of Niger’s operational and administrative environment.
• Demonstrated sound judgment, strong focus on internal controls and compliance.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi‑country management structure while respecting country‑level accountability.

Required skills

• Expertise in managing finance, human resources, logistics and ICT functions in complex, access‑constrained settings.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, audit requirements and NRC internal policies.
