Internal Auditor – Healthcare Compliance

About the role

The Internal Auditor will lead and optimise auditing activities across assigned health clinics, ensuring operations comply with organisational policies, regulatory standards, and financial controls. This role combines routine audit work with special investigations and security monitoring to protect programme integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive audits of clinic operations, employee performance, and cash management, providing clear assessments and actionable recommendations.
• Engage with beneficiaries and stakeholders to gather feedback on programme gaps and compliance issues.
• Perform confidential investigations into suspected fraud or irregularities and report findings to senior management.
• Plan, execute, and review audit schedules, including verification of immunisation procedures and distribution of programme gifts.
• Analyse risk factors related to financial loss and develop mitigation measures.
• Report security incidents, follow security SOPs, and ensure personal and team safety in the field.
• Undertake special audit assignments, particularly those linked to disciplinary matters.
• Support additional projects or tasks as directed by management.

Required profile

• BSc or HND in Accounting or Finance; a master’s degree or professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years experience in auditing, risk management, or compliance, preferably within health‑sector operations.
• Familiarity with the Nigerian health system, clinic documentation, and infant vaccination programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset, high reliability, and excellent organisational abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to improving infant health outcomes.
