Vaccine Logistics and Cold Chain Technical Assistant

About the role

The Technical Assistant will support the implementation of the Cold Chain Equipment Optimization Platform (CCEOP2) in Niger, monitoring the vaccine supply chain and ensuring the functionality of cold chain equipment. The role involves overseeing equipment deployment, user training, and preparation for the 2026 Effective Vaccine Management assessment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor installation of cold chain equipment according to the CCEOP2 deployment plan and update the equipment database.
• Support regional teams in collecting delivery notes, installation reports, and user‑training documentation.
• Supervise vaccine and cold‑chain management at regional, district and service delivery points.
• Assist the Directorate of Immunization in preparing for the 2026 Effective Vaccine Management (EVM/GEV) assessment.
• Provide monthly reports on vaccine inventories, equipment status, and logistical activities to the U.S. Department of State.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in Health Logistics, General Logistics, Industrial Refrigeration or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience in cold‑chain and vaccine supply‑chain management.
• Nigerien national with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating system.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and email communication.
• Internet navigation skills.
• Familiarity with vaccine stock management tools (SMT) and mSupply software.
