About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Specialist in Employee Relations to lead fair, timely, and person‑centred investigations across its global operations. The role combines case management, legal advice, and organisational development to resolve complex workplace issues while upholding the organisation’s values.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex employee‑relations investigations, ensuring outcomes are consistent with policy, legislation, and SCI values.
• Identify lessons learned from investigations and develop evidence‑based recommendations to address root causes and improve organisational practice.
• Provide strategic advice to senior leaders and HR teams on high‑risk cases, consulting internal or external legal counsel as needed.
• Build capability within country‑office HR teams through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
• Drive continuous improvement of employee‑relations processes, tools, and frameworks.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading complex investigations, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
• Proven ability to give strategic advice to senior leaders on high‑risk employee‑relations issues.
• Strong risk‑assessment skills throughout the investigation lifecycle.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building abilities across diverse cultural contexts.
• High integrity, sound judgement, and resilience in handling confidential and sensitive matters.

Required skills

• Expert understanding of employment laws and regulations in one or more countries where SCI operates.
• Experience producing high‑quality investigation reports with clear findings and recommendations.
• Capability to manage a complex caseload, prioritize competing demands, and maintain accurate records.
