Regional Safeguarding Coordinator, West Africa Ministry Team

About the role

The Regional Safeguarding Coordinator will support the implementation of World Renew’s safeguarding policies across Niger, Mali, Nigeria and any additional disaster‑response locations. The role strengthens capacity in safeguarding compliance, advises country teams, and manages complaints and feedback mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of the safeguarding suite of policies and related procedures throughout the region.
• Communicate key contents of the Complaints Policy to all staff and advise on contextualised complaints mechanisms.
• Develop and deliver training material for staff, complaints focal points, partners and board members.
• Provide ongoing support to Safeguarding and Complaints Focal Points, including handling specific cases and investigations.
• Establish and maintain secure complaints logs, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate referral to authorities when needed.
• Represent World Renew in regional safeguarding networks and contribute to sector‑wide initiatives.

• Knowledge of survivor‑centred approaches, confidentiality, informed consent and psychological safety.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Proactive, self‑motivated with strong analytical, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
