The Adviser reports to the HAS Manager for line supervision and technically to the Country Director, and works closely with the Country Management Group on NRC's Humanitarian Access Framework. The role combines advising on programme design and operations with co-leading Niger's Access Working Group (AWG) alongside OCHA.

Key responsibilities

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, or Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in humanitarian programming and access, and in access negotiations with NGOs and/or UN agencies.
  • Previous experience in complex contexts, risk management with implementing partners, and remote management; prior training experience is an added value.

Required skills

  • Fluent French, written and spoken; working proficiency in English, written and spoken.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of the Sahel region is a strong asset; experience leading coordination forums (AWG/HAWG or equivalent) is also an asset.
