Child Protection Officer (Fixed‑Term) – Niger

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Child Protection Officer to provide technical, operational and administrative support for child protection programmes in Niger. The role covers the full programme cycle, from planning to delivery, and contributes to safeguarding children’s rights in both stable and humanitarian contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development and planning for child protection initiatives.
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring progress and ensuring delivery of results.
• Provide technical and operational assistance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain networks and partnerships with stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law or a related social science.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in social development planning and management, specifically in child protection.
• Fluency in French; working knowledge of English is desirable.
• Experience in programme development within UN agencies or NGOs, especially in fragile or humanitarian settings.
