Child Protection Officer (Civil Status), NO-2, Fixed‑Term

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Child Protection Officer (Civil Status) at the NO‑2 level to join its team in Niamey, Niger. The role provides technical, operational and administrative support for child protection programmes, from planning through to results delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development, planning and implementation for child protection initiatives.
• Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and operational assistance to ensure compliance with UNICEF policies and standards.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, NGOs and community groups.
• Contribute to innovation and knowledge‑sharing within the child protection portfolio.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree or equivalent experience in child protection, social work, public administration or a related field.
• Experience in programme management, monitoring and evaluation in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners and stakeholders.
