WordPress Engineer – Part‑time Remote

About the role

We are looking for a skilled WordPress Engineer to join our team on a part‑time, remote basis. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining high‑quality WordPress sites, custom themes, and plugins while ensuring optimal performance and user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain WordPress websites, including custom themes and plugins.
• Optimize site performance, security, and scalability.
• Implement and manage e‑commerce solutions using WooCommerce.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and technical issues.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and plugins.
• Ensure responsive design and mobile compatibility.
• Manage regular backups, updates, and version control.
• Collaborate with designers and content creators to implement designs and content.
• Apply SEO best practices within the WordPress environment.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a WordPress Engineer or Developer.
• Strong understanding of WordPress core architecture.
• Experience building custom themes and plugins.
• Familiarity with WooCommerce and e‑commerce development.
• Knowledge of performance optimisation and security best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and solve complex technical problems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
