Health Officer (NO-2) – Temporary Position

About the role

The Health Officer will support the Chief Field Office in delivering UNICEF's Health Programme in Niger, from planning through to results delivery. This temporary position (364 days) provides technical, operational and administrative assistance across the programme lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme development and planning, including health, nutrition and maternal‑neonatal components.
• Manage programme implementation, monitoring progress and reporting results.
• Provide technical and operational support to field activities and emergency preparedness.
• Build partnerships and networks with government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, pediatric health, health policy, epidemiology or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in public health planning, nutrition or maternal‑neonatal health, and health emergency/humanitarian preparedness.
• Fluency in French; English knowledge is desirable.
• Experience in capacity building, partnership development and programme management in fragile or humanitarian settings is an asset.
