Health Officer (NO-2) – Fixed Term – Maradi, Niger

About the role

The Health Officer (NO-2) will support UNICEF's Health Programme in Maradi, Niger. Reporting to the Health/CSD/Nutrition Specialist, the incumbent will contribute to the design, implementation and monitoring of health interventions that improve child and maternal health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in programme development, planning and budgeting for health and nutrition activities.
• Manage programme implementation, monitor progress and ensure delivery of results.
• Provide technical and operational support to field teams, including emergency preparedness.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, pediatric health, health policy, epidemiology or a related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in public health/nutrition planning, maternal‑neonatal health care or health emergency preparedness.
• Fluent French; knowledge of another UN language or a local language is an asset.
• Relevant experience at country level, especially in programme development and implementation.
