Fraud Analyst

About the role

Wave is looking for a proactive and organized Fraud Analyst to join its team in Niamey, Niger. You will help protect Wave’s mobile‑money customers, agents and the business from fraud while ensuring the service stays accessible and easy to use.

Key responsibilities

• Assess fraud risks on a periodic basis.
• Visit field locations to understand local challenges and align fraud‑prevention strategies with market expansion.
• Identify vulnerabilities of customers, agents and staff.
• Provide reliable data, dashboards and statutory reporting.
• Prepare fraud‑training materials based on risk exposure.
• Communicate fraud issues to stakeholders and customers.
• Investigate, escalate and act on suspicious activity.
• Monitor suspicious transactions and follow up on required actions.
• Work with legal teams and local authorities to close fraud cases.
• Analyze fraud data to support decision‑making.
• Contact agents regarding commission cuts and address their complaints.

Required profile

• Resourceful, organized and proactive.
• Willingness to travel within Niger for field visits.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with growth, legal and regulatory teams.
• Work authorization in Niger.
