Fraud Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Fraud Analyst to join Wave’s risk team in Niamey, Niger. You will protect our mobile‑money customers, agents and the business from fraud while ensuring our services stay easy to use and widely accessible.

Key responsibilities

• Assess fraud risks on a regular basis and produce data‑driven dashboards for internal and statutory reporting.
• Visit field locations to understand local challenges and align fraud‑prevention strategies with market expansion plans.
• Identify vulnerabilities of customers, agents and staff and develop mitigation measures.
• Prepare fraud‑training materials and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Investigate suspicious transactions, escalate cases, and coordinate with legal teams and local authorities.
• Monitor and follow up on commission‑related complaints from agents.
• Support additional duties as the business evolves.

Required profile

• Resourceful, organized and proactive with a strong analytical mindset.
• Ability to work independently and travel occasionally to field sites.
• Legal authorization to work in Niger.

Required skills

• Experience in fraud investigation and risk assessment.
• Proficiency in data analysis and creating dashboards.
• Strong communication skills for reporting and training.
