Country Coordinator – Niger (Sahel Region)

About the role

The Country Coordinator will lead IFDC's program implementation in Niger, ensuring activities align with the overall vision and strategic objectives of the Sahel Region talent roster. This senior position works closely with consortium partners, donors, and local stakeholders to drive impact for smallholder farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Guide in‑country program activities to match the program’s vision and leadership direction.
• Support consortium partners in building and managing a strong implementation team with a clear results‑driven strategy.
• Foster collaborative relationships with implementing partners, ensuring synergy and leveraging opportunities across projects.
• Represent IFDC at meetings, conferences, and public forums to promote project achievements.
• Lead regular project management meetings with consortium members and donor embassy representatives.
• Ensure activities comply with national sector strategies, policies, and donor requirements.
• Monitor overall expenditure, private‑sector contributions, and financial compliance with budgets and IFDC procedures.
• Oversee timely preparation of work plans, progress reports, and financial statements.
• Manage monthly cash‑flow needs and advance fund requests.
• Track performance indicators, evaluate results, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate with IFDC leadership to ensure administrative and financial procedures meet contract provisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing large‑scale development or agricultural programs in West Africa.
• Strong ability to build and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership management skills.
• Demonstrated competence in financial monitoring, budgeting, and reporting.
• Familiarity with national agricultural policies and donor compliance frameworks.
