Project Manager – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The Project Manager (Infrastructure) leads the delivery of infrastructure initiatives across sectors such as education, health, transport, irrigation and ports. Reporting to the Project Board, the role ensures projects meet UNOPS standards for time, cost, scope, quality, risk and benefits while embedding sustainability and gender considerations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and implement the project implementation plan, including milestones and design reviews.
• Coordinate with donors, partners and beneficiaries to align project outputs with contractual commitments.
• Manage production of deliverables, monitor progress, control variances and handle change requests.
• Ensure quality of work packages and timely delivery by external suppliers.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks; advise senior management on corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit reports, maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with UNOPS financial and ethical rules.
• Facilitate handover to the closure manager and support project audits.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing infrastructure projects from conception to delivery.
• Strong coordination skills with donors, partners and beneficiaries.
• Ability to work within UNOPS performance standards and contractual frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities to manage risks and variances.
